Austin, Texas, located deep in the heart of Texas in Travis County, is the State Capital. It is the fourth largest city in Texas. Residents of Austin, also known as “Austinites,” enjoy a mild subtropical climate where year round outdoor sports, recreation activities, music, art, and more abound!

Looking for the hottest spot in Austin to get in your daily workout? Stop by Zilker Park and play a round of soccer on the acres of green grass or throw th ball with your best furry friend. There’s a great gravel path that wraps around the park and Lady Bird Lake. The views of downtown and the hills will keep your heart rate up. Need to get the wiggles and giggles out of your kids? Take them to the playground to monkey around or go for a ride on the kiddie train that runs through the park. If it’s too hot for a run, take your workout to the water. Barton Springs will surely cool you off and is great for laps or just splashing around. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards and enjoy a relaxing day on Lady Bird Lake.
For boundless nightlife, Austin has a spot for everyone. East 6th street is famous for blocks upon blocks of bars. People fill the streets to hop from bar to bar enjoying music, dancing, and the creative drinks the bartenders concoct. Head to West 6th street for more blocks of bars with a more subdued crowd. The Eastside has some great low key, hole in the wall bars, if a beer and picnic table is all you need.
Check out the 2nd street district, located in the heart of downtown Austin. Here you’ll find luxury condos, local restaurants and coffee shops, and some great clothing and home stores. Everything is just blocks away from each other and the cobblestone sidewalks with trees and benches make the stroll an enjoyable one.
South Congress has the iconic view of the capital. With local restaurants and shopping, every Austinite has spent time walking the blocks of South Congress to grab a slice and check out the latest trends. South Lamar has great dining and shopping as well and is quickly transforming with new condos that offer convenience and a view.
